FAQs

  • What are our Hours?
We are open from 7:00am-5:30pm, with core programming hours from 9:00am-4:30pm.
  • What is your policy in a case of sickness?
If your child should become ill while at school, you will be notified immediately. Please keep your child at home for at least 48 hours after the onset of cold symptoms and 24 hours after the end of a fever.
  • Do you provide snacks and lunch?
Children bring their own lunch. We serve a nutritious snack in the morning and afternoon. Please keep lunch healthy and natural. Good nutrition is part of our curriculum and important for the success of a child’s day. Please let us know if your child has any allergies or special dietary needs.
  • Does my child need to be toilet trained before starting school?
No, he or she does not. We will work together with you and your child to get your child diaper free!
  • What is the Child to Teacher Ratio?
Our ratios meet or exceed the California licensing standards. We have extra staff on hand to support transitions and activities and to ensure our children have a quality experience.
  • How do you help a child to transition the first days of school?
The time a child takes to settle into the group and become accustomed to being left by parents varies enormously. We are here to help you and your child to make the transition as painless as possible therefore we suggest that you speak with us about your child’s needs in order to find the best way to handle the emotions and distress of the first days of school.
  • What is your nap/rest policy?
According to California Licensing requirements full day preschools must schedule a daily rest-time. Some children need to sleep longer and some children do not nap at all. We accommodate both needs. The child who does not nap is asked to remain on his/her mat until wake-up time and allowed to read a book when the rest of the children are asleep. We provide each child with a cot, and the parents bring a sheet and blanket to be brought home and washed at least once a month. A child may also bring a cuddly toy and/or a pillow to rest more comfortably.
  • What are the Teacher's Qualifications?
Our lead teachers hold an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field and at least two years of experience working in a preschool setting. All classroom staff have a minimum of 12 ECE units. All employees are CPR/First Aid and Pediatric and Adult certified annually. Each year, we participate in 5 days of learning/training to ensure the best early childhood practices.
  • Do you offer a discount for siblings?
Yes, we offer a discount of $2 per day on the second child’s tuition when more than one child from the same family are attending at the same time.
  • Do you charge for a full tuition during months with holidays and breaks?
Yes, BSCC is open all year. If your child will be absent for any duration, the full monthly tuition is still required.
