Philosophy

We believe in providing each child with a variety of experiences and opportunities to learn, create, and discover. Our program is socially and emotionally strong, thus providing our children with a healthy feeling of self-esteem and initiative. We encourage exploration, imagination, creativity, problem-solving, and appreciation for uniqueness and differences in personalities, abilities, and appearances. We have designed our program to be the essential base for later cognitive learning. We feel that with our curriculum, as well as our caring and highly qualified staff, we provide our children with the healthy environment needed for optimal growth and discovery.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is child-centered, providing experiences to enhance a child’s natural development. Each week our children explore a new theme in the areas of art, music, science, cooking, nutrition, socialization, critical thinking, community, multicultural awareness, STEAM, and language arts skills.

Our Kindergarten Readiness Program is implemented in our Pre-Kindergarten classrooms and was created to better prepare our students for their entry into kindergarten. Our Pre-K students experience many different areas of social interaction, group orientation and academic preparation through age-specific lesson plans.

Teachers

At BSCC, we believe our greatest strength lies in the talents and skills of our staff. Our teachers are highly educated and have deep expertise in early childhood education and preschool curriculum, but most importantly, they are attentive, warm, and nurturing. They just love children and are passionate about what they do, every day.

Our teachers appreciate that each child has unique strengths, interests, needs, and learning styles. Teachers actively engage with children in child-directed play, care-giving, and teacher-inspired activities within a predictable and stable daily schedule. They are intentional and authentic. The trust that is developed between child and teacher provides the support that is needed for each child to reach their highest potential: It enables them to discover their interests, fully explore their intrinsic curiosity and creativity, and develop self-confidence, independence, and satisfying peer relationships.

Our Family

We strongly encourage our parents to volunteer, and welcome them to participate in their child’s school experience. There are so many different ways to be involved, and we are always excited when parents bring their own unique offerings to our general program or their child’s specific classroom.
